Why I'm doing this

I guess this is the simple part. I'm not one for New Year's resolutions. One year doesn't seem long enough for my lofty goals in life. And, by lofty, I mean, numerous. There are just too many things I want to do in life to give myself just one thing to do per year. I look forward to completing my list of 101 things. And, I look forward to being challenged by it. Why, you ask? I believe in being challenged by everyday things. They don't have to be big things. But, they are all things that are important to me. And since life isn't easy and I don't expect or want it to be, I find myself challenged each and every day.

The Mission of this Challenge

The Mission: Complete 101 preset tasks in a period of 1001 days.

The Criteria: Tasks must be specific (ie. no ambiguity in the wording) with a result that is either measurable, or clearly defined. Tasks must also be realistic and stretching (ie. represent some amount of effort on your part).

Why 1001 Days?
Many people have created lists in the past - frequently simple goals such as New Year's resolutions. The key to beating procrastination is to set a deadline that is realistic. 1001 Days (about 2.75 years) is a better period of time than a year, because it allows you several seasons to complete the tasks, which is better for organizing and timing some tasks such as overseas trips or outdoor activities
